Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an extra layer of protection for your Dash Social account, providing you enhanced security and data protection on Dash Social's web and mobile platform.

There are two ways to activate MFA in Dash Social:

• Email – Sends a one-time code to your email after entering your password.
• Authentication App – Generates a code through an authentication app like Google Authenticator, without relying on your email.

Follow these steps to enable MFA for your account.

Email-Based MFA

This option adds an extra layer of protection by requiring you to verify your identity through a one-time code sent via email.

To log in with email-based MFA:

1. Log In: Go to the login page and enter your email and password as you normally would.

2. Receive MFA Prompt: After entering your credentials, you’ll be prompted to enter a verification code.

3. Check Your Email: A unique verification code will be sent to the email address associated with your account. If you don’t receive the email within seconds, check your spam/junk folder.

4. Enter the Code: Return to the login screen and enter the code you received via email.

5. Access Your Account: Once you’ve entered the code, you’ll be logged in as usual.

Authenticator App-Based MFA

This option adds an extra layer of protection by requiring you to verify your identity using an authentication app like Google Authenticator to generate a login code.

Setting Up App-Based MFA

To set up app-based MFA:

1. Download Authenticator App: Ensure you have an authenticator app installed on your mobile device.

2. Log In: Go to the login page and enter your email and password as you normally would.

3. Scan QR Code: Following this step, a QR code will be displayed. Use your chosen authenticator app to scan the displayed QR code.

4. Add Dash Social in Authenticator App: After scanning the QR code, follow the prompt to add Dash Social to your authenticator app.

5. Enter Verification Code: The app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code on the Dash Social setup page.

6. Confirmation: Upon successful entry, a confirmation message will appear, indicating that MFA is now active for your account.

Logging In with App-Based MFA

Once you’ve finished setting up your app-based MFA for Dash Social, follow the steps below to log in:

1. Log In: Go to the login page and enter your email and password as you normally would.

2. Receive Verification Code: Your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code for Dash Social every 30 seconds.

3. Enter Verification Code: In Dash Social, the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

4. Access Your Account: Once you’ve entered the code, you’ll be logged in as usual.
