If you're experiencing issues or having trouble connecting your X account to Dash Social, please read below for troubleshooting tips and how to fix common error messages.
General Troubleshooting Tips
- Clear your cookies and cache (Instructions for Google Chrome)
- Try in an incognito browser (if it works in incognito it’s a good indicator it’s a cache problem)
- Try logging out of Dash Social and logging back in
My Account is Ineligible for X Ads
Your account must meet X's requirements to be eligible for advertising. This includes having a profile photo, being a public account, and having a banner image.
I Meet the Requirements, But It’s Not Letting Me Create an Ads Account
Step 1: Check to see if already have an ads account:
- Go to X.com and log in to the handle that your ads account may be associated with. If you are using a multi-user login, log in to the handle you're managing the ads account from.
- From there, go to https://business.x.com/
- If your ads account opens, you already have an ads account.
- Now that you’re logged in, head to Dash Social | X and click Connect X.
Step 2: Confirm that you’re an administrator on your account:
- Log in to https://business.x.com/
- In the top right corner, select the name of your ads account and click “Edit access to account” from the drop-down menu.
- Once you’re on the multi-user login screen of your ads account, you can choose to “Add access” or “Edit access”.
- You may need someone on your team to make you an account administrator OR add that person to your Dash Social account, and they can authorize X from Dash Social.
When I Tried to Authorize X, the Connection Failed
Step 1: Confirm you’re an account administrator (needed to authorize new users and connections).
- If you created your ads account, you should automatically be an account administrator.
- If not, try the following steps to check your permission level:
- Log into https://business.x.com/
- In the top right corner, select the name of your ads account and select “Edit access to account” from the drop-down menu.
- Once on the multi-user login screen of your ads account, you can choose to “Add access” or “Edit access”, as well as review your status.
- You may need someone on your team to make you an account administrator OR add that person to your Dash Social account, and they can authorize X from Dash Social.
Step 2: Confirm that the Dash Social team has the right X handle for your brand. You can always reach out to your Account Representative, support@dashsocial.com, or the chat on the Dash Social platform.
- I’ve tried everything, and I still can’t get access. What do I do?
- Try to get someone else on your team to connect your X account
- Let’s face it—sometimes things get lost in tech limbo. Have a colleague (who’s an account administrator) try to connect. Sometimes it’s as simple as Dash Social or X needing a fresh browser.
